A special night of collaboration.......
Tonight The Vespertine Quintet & Lonely and the Moose will Join together for a specail night of music!
Lonely and the Moose is made up of Liz Clark and Tessa Perry
Liz Clark, hailing from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, is a trans-atlantic, wandering songstress. Tessa Perry, a local from Baltimore, is an un-hurried and haunting folk singer. Both performers, with respectable solo careers of their own over the last 10 years, joined voices and forces while meeting in New York City in 2005- the melting pot of all lonely-hearted artists- forming Lonely And The Moose. Since then, using their natural instincts of collaboration, they've performed on both sides of the Atlantic from small coffeehouses and venues to sold-out concert halls, opening for the likes of Ani Difranco, Damien Rice, The Indigo Girls, and The Counting Crows. Now they have settled here in Baltimore together and are raising their two children.
The Vespertine Quintet is five west cork musicians (made up of traditional string quartet and piano, with additional electronics, voices and other quirky instruments). Earlier this year they launched their eagerly anticipated first record, 'Before a new harbour can be built, difficult things must be worked out'.
The quintet began as a way to get through a particularly dark West Cork winter, hosting house concerts and playing the lush and ethereal music of Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds and Estonian Arvo Pärt. They have collaborated with musicians such as Liam Ó Maonlaí, Farewell JR, Paul Tiernan, Adrian Crowley and Camilla Griehsel and many more over the last three years.
