Jean and Peter Perry moved to the Glebe with their
4 young daughters in 1989. Market gardeners in their native England,
the Perrys were attracted to West Cork and decided to make their
home in Baltimore.
'Shelter from those cold Atlantic winds was our first priority',
says Jean, 'so we planted the hedges first.'
The Waved Hedge is now a feature of Glebe Gardens where the emphasis
is on organic gardening methods.
As the Gardens mature, Jean and Peter look to the
future with a new Amphitheatre
in the Meadow and a Café by the Courtyard.
